Downtown Huntsville Maternity Session

This past summer, I had the sweetest opportunity to reconnect with two of my past wedding clients, Daniel and Lauren. Photographing their wedding was such a joy, so when they reached out to document this next chapter — their maternity session for their baby girl — I couldn’t have been more thrilled.

Their session took place in downtown Huntsville, which is such a beautiful mix of architecture, charm, and natural scenery. We began the evening at two local churches. The timeless stone walls and soft light filtering through the trees created the most romantic atmosphere — exactly the kind of setting that lets quiet, emotional moments unfold naturally.

From there, we made our way to the Huntsville Nature Preserve, just as the sun was dipping lower in the sky. That golden hour light was absolutely perfect — warm, glowy, and soft — wrapping everything in a peaceful, expectant calm. Lauren looked radiant, and Daniel couldn’t stop smiling as they talked about their little girl on the way..

I always love maternity sessions like this because they feel so full of anticipation and tenderness. There’s something so beautiful about slowing down and capturing these fleeting moments before life changes in the best possible way.

Though I’m based in Nashville, I love any reason to make the short trip down to Huntsville. It’s a city that offers so much variety for photography — from the historic downtown architecture to its quiet green spaces — and it’s the perfect place for couples who want their maternity photos to feel both timeless and natural.
